So I’m getting all my ducks in a row so I can start on my cosplays as soon as I get back from vacation, and I just realized that I’m forever alone and have no one to cosplay with.

Anyone else going to Nan Desu Kan in Denver this September?

That perhaps wants to meet up and/or cosplay with this here loser?

A loser dressed like Axel, Aerith, and Maria (Silent Hill 2)?

No?

Okay.

Have you checked out our very active forums? CO is definitely not “barren” when it comes to involved anime fans!

Last year at NDK, my friend and I had cosplayed as Dave and Karkat. After attempting to placate my ornery friend, we had to submit to his addiction to Mountain Dew. Of course, my friend would have to wait, as the only working vending machine was on the 4th floor, and the elevators were being…

be careful!

Pssst: wanna learn animation from an expert?

Our friends at the Denver Film Society asked us to pass on word of an exciting opportunity for students: learn the basics of animation from a pro animator.

The YFW Animation Workshop will give students (13-19 years old) the opportunity to create their own characters under the instruction of a professional animator. The hands-on course, which runs July 9th-20th at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, will focus on fundamentals such as character design and development as well as narrative story-telling techniques including writing for animation and storyboarding.

Suitable for beginners as well as students with prior animation experience. Partial scholarships and payment plan options available upon request. Questions? Email the DFS.

blodia said: okay, apparently replying twice clears the first reply. what’s the word on videogames? i know games made by a US company would be out, but games that were made by a Japanese company? (in specific, voice actors from the Final Fantasy series.)

Tried to just reblog your reply, but Tumblr didn’t give me me “reblog” option. Hope you see this!

NDK is not a video games convention, so we do tend to focus on anime series and film voice actor guests. That said, most of our voice actors (Patrick Seitz, Richard Epcar and Stephanie Sheh were the first ones to pop into my head) have also had significant roles in video games as well, often because they originated the characters in anime and carried them over. (Same goes for our Japanese voice actors/actresses).

But we really like getting suggestions from attendees on guests (here on our forums), and really do read every one. This is the first one I can recall that specifically mentions a specific game.

We’ve actually finished booking our guest list for NDK 2012(!!, stay tuned for a lot more announcements!), but there’s always the future. :)
